Cajuns’ Pigeon Gets Commanding Nod
ATLANTA – After guiding Louisiana to a shootout victory over Dallas Baptist on Friday night, Ragin’ Cajun junior attackman Edwin Pigeon was earned MCLA Division II Commanding Performance of the Week powered by Under Armour for the period ending Feb. 2.
Louisiana eventually downed Dallas Baptist, 20-15, and Pigeon factored in on half of the Ragin’ Cajuns production. He scored seven goals and set up three others for the 10-point evening.
In addition, the New Orleans product gobbled up 13 ground balls and had a pair of caused turnovers.
“Edwin as a junior has matured into an all-around offensive weapon,” said Louisiana coach Keith Schneider. “He always had a great shot, but now his overall game has improved dramatically. Edwin's goals came at the perfect time in this game. He stopped Dallas Baptist momentum at least once every quarter.”
For his efforts in earning the Commanding Performance of the Week powered by Under Armour, Pigeon will receive a new Under Armour Command Head – a $100 value. Under Armour is the proud sponsor of the MCLA.
