TCU Announces 2023 Staff
FORT WORTH, Texas - The Texas Christian men's lacrosse team is pleased to introduce the coaching staff for the 2023 season.
Mark Purcell -- Head Coach
Purcell grew up in Farmington Hills, Mich., and graduated from Michigan State with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and attended Washington University in St. Louis where he earned his MBA. While at Michigan State, he was a four-year letterman in lacrosse and was also appointed as a captain during his junior and senior years.
While in Baltimore, Purcell coached lacrosse for four years in the Severna Park youth association. Mark was also the head coach of Oklahoma’s men’s lacrosse team from 2009-14 where he led the building of a competitive and playoff program. Mark joined TCU as the head coach in 2015 and earned 2022 Coach of the Year award for the Lone Star Alliance (LSA).
Craig Lunde -- Offensive Coordinator
Lunde grew up in Baldwin, N.Y., and graduated from Yale with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics. While at Yale, Craig was a four-year letterman in lacrosse. In his junior year, he was the team's leading scorer. In his senior season, Yale would capture the Ivy League title and lose in overtime to Virginia in the NCAA tournament.
When Lunde graduated in 1988, he was fourth in all-time scoring. Recently, he coached at South Lakes High School in Reston, Va. His team won the Liberty Conference title from 2016-19. Lunde was also the Coach of the Year in the Liberty Conference in 2014, '16, '18 and '19. In 2016, he was selected as the US Lacrosse Coach of the Year for the state of Virginia.
Michael Fogerty -- Assistant Coach (Offense/FO)
Fogerty is from Boston, Mass., by way of Los Gatos, Calif., and has played lacrosse for over 15 years. He graduated from TCU with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice in 2021. While attending TCU, Michael was a four-year lacrosse student-athlete and team captain. He served in the same position last season.
Brody Cummins -- Defensive Coordinator/Goalie Coach
Cummins grew up in Centennial, Colo., and first picked up a lacrosse stick when he was five. Brody went to TCU, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Economics in 2021. While attending TCU, Brody was a four-year lacrosse student-athlete, team president, captain and was recognized as the MCLA Pearl Goalie of the Week. Brody served as an assistant defensive/goalie coach at TCU during the '22 season.
Jack Nixon -- Assistant Coach (Defense)
Nixon grew up in Pinehurst, N.C., and has played lacrosse since seventh grade. He was a student athlete at Appalachian State in Boone, N.C., playing lacrosse for four years as a defender and goalie. He graduated in 2022 with a bachelor's degree in Exercise Science and is a strength and conditioning coach for TCU football.
